As per the Census 2011 out of total population of Nagaland, 28.86% people lived in urban regions while 71.14% in rural areas. The total figure of population of urban population was 570,966 out of which 299,177 were males while remaining 271,789 were females. In rural areas of Nagaland, male population was 725,472 while female population was 682,064.
