Jammu and Kashmir Urban/Rural Population - Census 2011

As per the Census 2011 out of total population of Jammu and Kashmir, 27.38% people lived in urban regions while 72.62% in rural areas. The total figure of population of urban population was 3,433,242 out of which 1,866,185 were males while remaining 1,567,057 were females. In rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir, male population was 4,774,477 while female population was 4,333,583.

The average sex ratio in urban regions of Jammu and Kashmir was 840 females per 1000 males. Also the Child (0-6 age) sex ration of urban areas in Jammu and Kashmir was 850 girls per 1000 boys.
